Questions answered clearly

What DeviceSpace can—and cannot—do.

Does DeviceSpace require cloud storage?

No. The planned default workflow transfers files directly over your local network from Android to your own computer.

Which Android versions are supported?

Android 10 and later. Android 10 is the minimum because it provides the modern storage model the application is designed around.

Can it access every hidden Android folder?

No. Modern Android protects system and application-private storage. DeviceSpace will show accessible hidden folders, but protected areas remain restricted.

Will it automatically delete my files?

No. Copying, verification and deletion are separate stages. The user must explicitly approve deletion after transfer verification.

Can I save files to an external drive?

Yes, provided the drive is connected to the Windows or macOS computer and has sufficient free space.

Do I need Google Play or app-store accounts?

No for private testing and direct distribution. The Android APK and desktop applications can be installed directly, although the operating system may show additional warnings.

Can transfers resume after interruption?

The planned transfer engine uses chunked transfers so interrupted jobs can continue from the last verified section.
